            It’s week six of the 91st season of racing at Hawkeye Downs! A full program of HY-VEE Racing Series heat and feature racing is on the card as Performance Concepts Big 8 Late Models,  Mountain Dew Sportsmen, Anderson Automotive Hobby Stocks, Miller Time Hornets, and Dublin City Pub  INEX Legend Cars will take to the track.

            The Performance Concepts Late Models will run two features as they make up their rained out feature from May 27th in addition to their regular feature.

            The second installment of the Carpetland USA “Floor it” Dash for Dublin City Pub INEX Legends is also on tap for Friday night.

            Points races remain tight in all divisions despite some dominant performances early in the season. Brian Gibson leads the way in Performance Concepts Late Models with an 8-point edge over Brody Willett and Brad Osborn, who are tied for second.

            Greg Hentrich has moved into the lead in the hotly contested Mountain Dew Sportsmen division holding a slight edge over Jim Hanson.

            Jim Hanson, who drives in two divisions, has the upper hand in Anderson Automotive Hobby Stocks, leading Gerald Hall by six markers.

            Kevin Korsmo has a one-point edge over Brody Willett, another two-division driver in Dublin City Pub INEX Legends.

            Finally, in Miller Time Hornets, Dallas Chandler sits on top, with Troy Scott holding down the second slot.


            During Intermission, the Dodge Street Tire Lil’ Racer Car Club will hold their Chuck-A-Duck Contest. Fans can “rent a duck for a buck” and then toss it at a target on the track during the halftime break.  The closest one to the target wins a 4-pack of passes for lost island Waterpark!  Stop at the booth under the main Grandstand and rent your duck!

            Hawkeye Downs and Hy-Vee have again teamed up to offer a new and improved concessions menu this season along with the return of Pepsi Products for 2016. Your favorite adult beverages are available as well! Don’t forget “Hawkeye Downs Happy Hour from 6-7pm with specials on Tallboys!

The Front Gate and Concessions open at 6:00 pm .  Pre-Race Ceremonies will begin at 7:20pm with the first race at 7:30..
