Free Admission with Monetary Donation to Charity at Hawkeye Downs July 31, 2015 with All Proceeds Directed to Cedar Rapids Firefighters Foundation Directed towards the Safe Sleep Task Force of Eastern Iowa Initiative
On Friday,July 31, community members are invited to enjoy a free night at Hawkeye Downs Raceway knowing their entry fee will go to a great cause. Admission, normally $10, has been changed to a monetary donation with Van Meter Inc.’s annual race sponsorship. In return, race fans are encouraged to give a monetary donation with 100 percent of the proceeds directed to Cedar Rapids Firefighters Foundation, directing funds to the Safe Sleep Task Force of Eastern Iowa. The money raised will help provide a free Pack N’ Play portable crib and a set of crib sheets for families who attend a two-hour educational class on safe sleep as part of the Cribs for Kids program to promote safe sleep environments for infants.

(Cedar Rapids, IA July 24, 2015)—Friday night was Caseys General Stores Wall of Fame Night at Cedar Rapids’ Hawkeye Downs Speedway and the crowd was treated to some exciting racing on week eleven of the HyVee Racing Series .
In addition to racing, several new members were inducted into the Hawkeye Downs Wall of Fame. Presiding as Grand Marshall over the ceremonies was Austin Petty, brother of the late Adam Petty. Austin and Adam are the sons of Kyle Petty and grandsons of Richard Petty.

(CEDAR RAPIDS, IA)—Week eleven of the HyVee Racing Series is on tap at Historic Hawkeye Downs Speedway -Iowa’s only full time paved racetrack, this Friday night, July 24.
It’s a big night at Hawkeye Downs Speedway as Caseys General Stores presents racing action featuring Miller Time Hornets, Dublin City Pub Legends, Barron Motor Supply Hobby Stocks, and Mountain Dew Sportsmen on the quarter-mile while Carpetland USA Late Models presented by Performance Concepts battle on the half-mile.
It’s also Hawkeye Downs Wall of Fame Night with five new members set to be inducted in the Wall of Fame. This years’ recipients are Dudley Fleck, P.J. Harrington, Walt Hill, Adam Petty, and a “mystery inductee.”

(Cedar Rapids, IA 07/11/015)—Nathan Ballard scored feature wins in both Barron Motor Supply Hobby Stocks and Mountain Dew Sportsmen at Hawkeye Downs Speedway Friday night during Croell Redi-Mix Night brought to you by Electronics Engineering.
Dallas Chandler kicked off the night taking home the victory hardware in Miller Time Hornets and earning his third win of the season. The victory didn’t come easy however as Chandler had to make a tire change during a lap three caution and start at the tail of the field.

The Hawkeye Downs Lil’ Racer Car Club is in action Friday night as well. Parents can sign their kids up for the Lil’ Racer Car Club at their clubhouse under the main Grandstand as well as sign up the kids for a chance to win prizes.
WILLETT, PARROTT EARN REPEAT WINS ON HAWKEYE LABOR COUNCIL NIGHT AT HAWKEYE DOWNS SPEEDWAY
(Cedar Rapids-IA)—After a week off for the independence Day Holiday, racers and fans returned to Cedar Rapids’ Hawkeye Downs Speedway Friday night for Hawkeye Labor Council Night.
It was week nine in the point chase for the Hy-Vee Racing Series with all five divisions in action.
Derek Parrott backed up his win from two weeks ago in the Miller Time Hornets after starting in the last row of the scheduled 15-lap feature. Kurt Bohnsack, who has three wins this season, finished second while Todd Ness was third.
