After hours and hours of watching the weather forecast, we have made the difficult decision to CANCEL tonight's races. This includes the complete racing program: NASCAR Weekly Racing Series, Mid-Am Racing Series, and Sprint Enduro Series. These races will not be rescheduled at this time. There is a significant risk of isolated thunderstorms this evening. Even if the rain stops later today, the large amounts of rain we have had overnight and this morning will not allow our Hawkeye Downs staff and volunteers adequate time to dry and safely prepare the track and facilities. Our racers' and fans' safety is our top priority. We appreciate your understanding and support, as it is never easy to make these weather-related decisions.
Mid-Am Racing Series | Sprint Series
IMPORTANT: The Mid-Am Racing Series WILL BE RACING at Hawkeye Downs Speedway on Friday, June 28th. As of 12:45pm on Thursday, June 27th, we are going racing! We are keeping an eye on the weather. If anything changes, we will let everyone know as soon as we can on our Facebook and website. Hawkeye Downs is committing to $100 travel money for Mid-Am Racing Series racers who are traveling if we get rained out. Questions? Please contact Brian Gibson at (319) 551-4268.
