Jennifer Lawrence
Executive Director & Events Manager
In 2021, Jen started her career with Hawkeye Downs. Prior to joining our team, Jen operated a childcare program for 25 years. As a lifelong Cedar Rapidian, she is proud to support events in our community by serving them as a representative of Hawkeye Downs.
In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with family and friends.
Brian Gibson
Race Director
Brian joined the team at Hawkeye Downs in November of 2021 as the Race Director. He brings 30 years of racing experience along with 33 years of service with the Cedar Rapids Fire Department.
He is married to Renae and has three children. When Brian’s not at the track, you can likely find him relaxing at the campground.

This proven leader will be a self-starter, supervising the day-to-day operations of concessions, light maintenance, and janitorial work for the facilities at Hawkeye Downs and providing a quality customer service experience.

As a non-profit organization, Hawkeye Downs Speedway and Expo Center maintains a small staff and highly values our large number of community volunteers. It’s a fact: our volunteers make a big difference.
From setting up tables in the expo hall for a weekend craft show to selling merchandise in the grandstands or taking tickets at the front gate at a Friday night race, it takes all types of volunteers. Our team works to find the best volunteer experiences for you.
