July 28th, 2023: Racing Canceled, Due to Excessive Heat

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

RACERS AND FANS: With the heat advisory this week, our Weekly Racing at Hawkeye Downs sponsored by Marion Tire Co. and Mt. Vernon Road Tire Co. scheduled for Friday, July 28th has been CANCELED. We will not be able to reschedule this race in 2023.

If you haven't looked at the weather, we are looking at 105° heat index forecasted for Friday night. This is dangerous heat. We do not want to risk the health of our staff, drivers, and fans. We appreciate your support in our decision to put safety first as we near the end of our 2023 season (just three races left!).

For those of you looking forward to our backpack giveaway, we will be rescheduling that for Friday, August 4th. We hope to see you then for Wall of Fame Night at Hawkeye Downs Sponsored by Cassill Motors!
