Hawkeye Downs Speedway and Expo Center has received a $5,000 donation from our friends at New Leader Manufacturing! This donation is funded through the New Leader Manufacturing Spreading Good program, 380. This funding is going towards the electrical upgrades for the race track.

New Leader Manufacturing shares, "Our communities are filled with people, organizations, and causes that do great things and inspire us, and others, to do more."

In recent years, staff, volunteers, sponsors, and others have contributed endless hours to upgrade the racetrack and expo center facilities to provide the best space for our community to host events and create lasting memories. These upgrades include but are not limited to new LED lighting on the track, restroom renovations, a new track/pit area sound system, scoreboard, and new concessions offerings.

With the electrical upgrade planned for this fall, the new, more energy-efficient power supply for events on the Hawkeye Downs Speedway racetrack infield between turns one and two inside the half-mile track. We have new, exciting events coming to Hawkeye Downs in the near future (stay tuned!), and we're thrilled to have this upgrade available to those who utilize our space.

Thank you to New Leader Manufacturing for contributing to this project! We appreciate your support of our Hawkeye Downs community in Cedar Rapids.
