Santa Village Returns to Hawkeye Downs

Hawkeye Downs welcomes the public to Santa Village in 2024 in the Expo Center! The free holiday event series will run from Thanksgiving weekend through Christmas Eve on Thursdays from 6pm to 9pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 6pm to 10pm, and Sundays from 6pm to 9pm for all ages, with the special hours of 6pm to 9pm on Monday, December 23rd and Tuesday, December 24th. This indoor holiday experience includes visits with Santa, crafts, activities, games, photo opportunities, and more.

“Our Hawkeye Downs staff and volunteers have worked hard to make this a free event for Eastern Iowa families with the support of many community supporters,” explains Executive Director Jennifer Lawrence. “We believe that everyone should enjoy the holidays without added financial stress. We hosted tens of thousands in attendance last year, and we plan for the same this holiday season.” 

In 2024, the Santa Village will include selfie stations sponsored by Rinderknecht Associates, Iowa Style Apparel, and Ironside Apparel. Attendees can participate in the craft and coloring station, Hills Bank Letters to Santa Station, and have fun at the Riverside Casino & Golf Resort’s Peppermint Putt Putt Station. All of these activities are free for attendees. 

Additionally, guests can visit Santa for special photo opportunities for just $5 each night of the event. The elves from H&H Fun Rides will host inflatables for kids in Santa Village. Wristbands and tickets will be available for purchase in the Expo Center. Guests are welcome to shop local vendors at the Impact Embroidery Holiday Market.  Hawkeye Downs will offer concessions for sale, including hot cocoa, cookies, coffee, and other snacks.
