Support, Sponsorship Grows Hawkeye Downs Racing Program

This summer, Hawkeye Downs Speedway and Expo Center has received contributions from Five Star Bodies and Bowker Pinnacle, which have boosted the 2024 racing program for racers and fans. This behind-the-scenes support is instrumental to our organization in our 99th year of racing, allowing Hawkeye Downs to improve operations, better serve our event attendees, and fulfill our mission to provide and manage quality facilities for entertainment and more in our community.

New Tech Equipment

Five Star Bodies, a high-quality race car bodies and parts supplier based in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, has donated a Referee 2.0 tech inspection device to our track. This inspection device will save our tech staff valuable time by allowing us to verify measurements with its laser measure assembly and magnetic wheel locators. It will provide measurements for ABC NextGen, ABC, 2020 Late Model Stock Car, and Late Model Stock Car Bodies that race at our track.

Since the 1970s, Five Star Bodies has operated as a family-owned business. With over 175 employees and 300,000 square feet of space dedicated to design, manufacturing, and distribution, Five Star Bodies proudly serves the racing community and beyond with body panels, windows, and accessories for NASCAR, Circle Track, Drag Race, Road Race, Off-Road Applications, and more. Hawkeye Downs is thankful for their support of our racing program.

Beer Cooler Improvements

On hot summer nights at the track, Hawkeye Downs' fans are thrilled to stop by the concessions stand to get ice-cold beverages, including various beer offerings. In June 2024, Bowker Pinnacle stepped in for some much-needed repairs of the built-in cooler in the beer stand. They provided the necessary parts and labor to get the cooler working, allowing Hawkeye Downs concessions staff to better stock the cooler for faster service to fans. Hawkeye Downs is honored to have Bowker Pinnacle as the official sponsor of the beer cooler.

Bowker Pinnacle has been locally owned and operated in Eastern Iowa since 1928. They offer a full range of services to clients of all types, including municipal, industrial, commercial, and residential entities. These services include site development, underground utilities, excavating and grading, plumbing, HVAC, and piping services.

"We can't make these races and events happen without great supporters, like Five Star Bodies and Bowker Pinnacle," shares Race Director Brian Gibson. "People forget that Hawkeye Downs is a nonprofit, and we need support to continue growing our racing and entertainment operations. We're really, really lucky to have the community support we have, inside and outside of racing. We hope it only continues to grow as we approach our 100th year of racing next season."
