WEATHER UPDATE: June 28th Races CANCELED

UPDATE AS OF FRIDAY, JUNE 28TH AT 12:20PM

After hours and hours of watching the weather forecast, we have made the difficult decision to CANCEL tonight's races. This includes the complete racing program: NASCAR Weekly Racing Series, Mid-Am Racing Series, and Sprint Enduro Series. These races will not be rescheduled at this time. 

There is a significant risk of isolated thunderstorms this evening. Even if the rain stops later today, the large amounts of rain we have had overnight and this morning will not allow our Hawkeye Downs staff and volunteers adequate time to dry and safely prepare the track and facilities. Our racers' and fans' safety is our top priority. We appreciate your understanding and support, as it is never easy to make these weather-related decisions. 

Our next event at Hawkeye Downs Speedway will be our Interstate Power Systems Road Course Enduro Race, presented by Marion Tire Co. and Mt. Vernon Road Tire Co. THIS SUNDAY, June 30th. Gates open at 11am with racing to begin at noon. More information can be found here.

Due to the holiday weekend, we will not be racing next Friday, July 5th. We’ll be back at Hawkeye Downs Speedway on Friday, July 12th, for GATR Night at the Races!
