About Hawkeye Downs

Between the race track and expo hall, Hawkeye Downs hosts nearly 100 events in its facilities each year.
The opportunity to reach a broad audience across Eastern Iowa is endless at Hawkeye Downs!

This family-friendly venue is perfect for all ages! Hawkeye Downs is also home to one of two asphalt racetracks in the state of Iowa. Every May through August, you can hear the roar of race engines nearly every weekend.

Founded in 1925, Hawkeye Downs was previously known as Frontier Park and the Cedar Rapids Speedway. Hawkeye Downs is a nonprofit organization that is governed by a board of directors. It features a 1/4 and 1/2 mile track and an expo center with over 20,000 square feet available for craft shows, gun shows, corporate events, fundraising events, weddings, and more.

Recent upgrades to the facilities include, but are not limited to:

  • New grandstand sound system

  • New LED lighting on the track

  • New paint on track walls and under the grandstands

  • Restroom renovations

  • New facility sign on 6th St SW

  • New offerings in concessions

  • New point scoring system and scoreboard

  • Race Night Sponsorship

    Friday night races are held May through mid-August. Our weekly race series brings approximately 1,000 people through the gate every race. There are multiple race night sponsorships available. All sponsorship opportunities include naming rights for the race night (i.e. Performance Foods Night at the Races), social media recognition, logo recognition on programming materials, verbal recognition over the PA system by race night emcees with the opportunity to customize any messaging, reserved seating on the party deck or in the grandstand, and complimentary tickets.   • Party Deck Naming Rights Sponsorship

    The Party Deck at Hawkeye Downs is available to the public to rent each race night. This sponsorship includes three (3) banners with the company logo displayed on the deck, written recognition whenever the party deck is referenced (including social media, website, and print materials), and verbal recognition over the PA system by race night emcees when the party deck is rented.

  • Suite Naming Rights Sponsorship

    There are two suites available for rent at Hawkeye Downs that are air-conditioned at the top of the grandstand. This sponsorship includes a banner with company logo on the suite(s) visible from grandstands, opportunity to place collateral in the suites, recognition on complimentary water provided to suite renters, written recognition whenever suites are referenced (including social media, website, and print materials), and verbal recognition over the PA system by race night emcees.

  • Backstretch Billboard Sponsorship

    With more than 300,000 people visiting us each year, signage on our track is a valuable way to increase brand recognition and share your message at more than 25 track events per year. Multiple sign sizes are available. Sponsorship does include sign production.

  • Grandstand Signage Sponsorship

    Display your personal or professional message in front of the grandstand to be visible to the thousands of attendees at dozens of events hosted at the track. Multiple sign sizes are available. Sponsorship does include sign production.

  • Grandstand Naming Rights Sponsorship

    Claim the grandstand as your own! This sponsorship includes exclusive naming rights to the grandstands at Hawkeye Downs Speedway.

Race Class Sponsorships

Do you want your logo on every car in a class that races at Hawkeye Downs? Each class is a group of cars that have the same rules and similar car styles. This could reach up to 30 cars per season. Get visibility at the track as well as other tracks across the Midwest! You can select from any of the following five classes that race weekly at Hawkeye Downs Speedway.

This sponsorship for any one of the five classes includes the following benefits:

  • 10+ social media mentions throughout the racing season (May-August)

  • Website recognition

  • Written recognition when class is referenced in recaps, blog posts, etc. (approximately 30 unique mentions per season)

  • Verbal recognition over the PA system by race night emcees (approximately four per night, plus recognition whenever the class is on the track and when the winner is announced in Victory Lane)

  • MyRacePass recognition (where results are posted publicly)

  • 15 complimentary season tickets to distribute

The seven classes at Hawkeye Downs Speedway are Hobby Stocks, Hornets, Sport Mods, Sportsman, HD Dawgs, Late Models, and Legends.
